My Approach

Counseling with me is collaborative and relational. Together, we will seek to understand not only what you’re struggling with, but why. We’ll explore the experiences and patterns that have shaped how you think, feel, relate, and respond while also building practical tools to help you move toward healing and lasting change.

I take a trauma informed, integrative approach that considers both what you think and do and what may be happening beneath the surface. This means we can work from the top down, using thoughts and insight to create change, and from the bottom up, working with the body and nervous system when talking and understanding alone may not be enough.

Top-down approaches help us work with thoughts, beliefs, emotions, behaviors, and relationship patterns with compassion and without judgment. My work draws from Post Induction Therapy (PIT), Restoration Therapy (RT)Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills. I also have experience with 12 Step recovery principles and a variety of secular and faith based recovery programs and fellowships.

Bottom up approaches recognize that our experiences can also affect the body and nervous system. I use Brainspotting and nervous system regulation strategies to help address patterns that may not shift through insight or talking alone.

Because every person's story is different, counseling is tailored to your unique needs, values, and goals. Together, we'll build an approach that reflects what matters most to your healing, builds on your strengths, and supports meaningful, lasting growth.

I work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, beliefs, and life experiences, and strive to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where your experiences, values, and goals are respected. For clients who desire it, Christian faith can be integrated with evidence-informed therapeutic approaches as part of the counseling process. Faith integration is always your choice and is never an expectation or requirement.

My goal is for counseling to be a place where you feel seen, heard, and understood creating space for you to be honest without fear of judgment as you move toward healing, hope, and lasting change.
